SPRINGFIELD – Legislation co-sponsored by State Senator Rachelle Crowe to protect workers from local right-to-work laws passed the Senate today.
“The Collective Bargaining Freedom Act solidifies the state’s commitment to provide protection for our middle-class workers,” Crowe (D-Glen Carbon) said. “Workers have the right to negotiate livable wages and safe working conditions without worry.”
Senate Bill 1474 is designed to support economic development, protect the quality of important services that are provided to the taxpayers of Illinois and confirm the state’s obligation to producing a highly trained workforce.
The bill will now be considered by the House.
